5,000 Years Ago in China and Japan

The next two identified cultures in China, from about 7000 to 5000 years ago, is the Lungshan culture of Shangdong province and the Yangshou culture of Henan province. Both cultures consisted of small agricultural villages, linked by long distance trade. Rice growing had started by this time period, possibly introduced from Indochina.

Millet ( a kind of grain) was grown, while dogs and pigs were domesticated. The potters wheel was not yet known, but hand-formed clay pots were made.
