Years Ago in East Africa
Along
the Nile valley, farming villages began to grow into town, centred
on local storehouses to keep crops safe for future use. The inhabitants
of these towns then eventually began to build walls around them
for protection, creating the first true cities in the area.
In one region, called Nubia, the villages and towns along the
upper Nile were beginning to join together form a centralized
kingdom, which would be a rival to Egypt in both power and culture.
