NewGreat Social Study Sites for Grades 1-8 Curriculum - We used to have a link to this site from the Bluewater Board until the URL changed. We have since found the site again and it is back thanks to popular requests. This site will provide lots of curriculum-based resource material for the grades 1-8 social studies teacher.
History in Film - If a teacher wanted to show one of the films included in the site, everything is there to help them -- plot summary, outline, homework, timeline, etc. -- including a download text package that could be modified (if needed) and used as handouts to the class.
The Canadian Museum Treasure Hunt - If you have students between the ages of 8 and 12, the Department of Canadian Heritage invites them to a virtual Treasure Hunt through 23 of Canada’s museums. While on the Treasure Hunt, they will discover new things about science, technology, nature, art and history.
